Put The Map In The Room
Plays in the dock at the bottom of the page, so it keeps going while you read on.
Lyrics
We knew the door, we knew the key
We never wrote it down, just carried it in me
Then I got sick, then I moved on
And the next kid in didn't know where the light was gone
Put the map in the room, put the map in the room
Don't make me guess it, don't make me assume
Jesus, You never hide the way
You put the road right where we stray
Put the map in the room
Label the door, name the sign
Don't let the shortcut be the only line
What's still wet paint, what's built to stay
Say it out loud so it don't wash away
Put the map in the room, put the map in the room
Don't make me guess it, don't make me assume
Jesus, You never hide the way
You put the road right where we stray
Put the map in the room
You didn't leave us a riddle
You nailed the sign to the tree
You are the path made visible
You are the light so we could see
So we could see, so we could see
Put the map in the room
Jesus, thank You, You made the way for us
Put the map in the room
The band
Sunday Riot
Young mixed lead, percussive verses, huge stacked gang vocals on the hook. Fast, chant-like and built to be shouted back - call-and-response, heavy repetition, restless and a bit cheeky, and certain of itself.
None of these bands are real. Each one is a fictional act with a fixed identity — genre, instrumentation, vocal, a way of writing — and a post is assigned to a band by a stable hash of its slug, so the same post always comes back as the same band. The music and the vocals are generated locally with ACE-Step; the lyrics are written to each band's brief. No musicians, no recordings, no one to credit.
Where the words came from
The lyrics were written from the post Make The Path Obvious.
Operational risk falls when the system makes its intended path visible instead of relying on team memory.
