Every Door Its Own Key

Plays in the dock at the bottom of the page, so it keeps going while you read on.

Lyrics

We built one house with a thousand rooms,

Every tenant's name on their own front door,

But a key that opens more than the lock it was cut for

Is a house that was never as safe as before

One login shining does not mean the halls are sealed

Walk every corridor, find what's concealed

Prove the wall, don't just trust the sign

Every door its own key, every line its own line

Not who you are but what you can reach

We test the silence between every breach

Swap a number in the light of day,

See if a stranger's file comes out to play

Give the broken role, the half-filled form,

The expired badge out standing in the storm

A locked door failing shut is a door that held

An open one by accident is a story we've all read

One clean line, one voice, one truth we chase

Trust is a boundary, not a feeling, not a face

Prove the wall, don't just trust the sign

Every door its own key, every line its own line

Not who you are but what you can reach

We test the silence between every breach

Build it once, then build it to hold

Every tenant's trust is worth more than gold

The band

Hot Path

arena rock

A soaring tenor over harmonised twin lead guitars, and a proper melodic guitar break in the middle of every song - the warm, sustained, seventies arena tone that sings rather than bites. Wide open images and long held notes, certain that the hard problem is worth the work.

None of these bands are real. Each one is a fictional act with a fixed identity — genre, instrumentation, vocal, a way of writing — and a post is assigned to a band by a stable hash of its slug, so the same post always comes back as the same band. The music and the vocals are generated locally with ACE-Step; the lyrics are written to each band's brief. No musicians, no recordings, no one to credit.

Where the words came from

The lyrics were written from the post How to Pen-Test a Multi-Tenant SaaS Application.

Multi-tenant SaaS platforms require more than traditional penetration testing. Verifying tenant isolation, authorisation and data boundaries is essential for protecting every customer.
